Meet The Band Members

Angela Muhwezi - Lead Vocals

Of Ugandan descent, singer-songwriter Angela Muhwezi first caught the attention of the LA underground music scene in 2014. In 2015 she cofounded Notown Sound Records and released her debut single, New Age, an incendiary two minute biopic of race relations and police brutality. Since that time Angela has released her own music and has also written and vocal arranged for several artists such as Captain Supernova, Peter Fenn, Ryan Stewart, Nailo and Sony Recording artist Cairo Gold.

She released a six song EP entitled Unscripted, which Buzzbands LA described "an incorporation of flavors such as big band, hip-hop, rock, R&B and soul, with Muhwezi's voice commanding each track with personality and versatility." Upon hearing Unscripted, influential French blogger Marina Ntsonga of Young Gifted and Black proclaimed her "un coup de foudre musical" (a musical thunderbolt).

Angela’s latest release Conqueror, written to inspire and empower her listeners to overcome adversity in any form. Produced by Hawthorne and rapper Marrque Nunley, who also features on the track, Conqueror is fueled by the sounds of the newly formed Hawthorne Philharmonic Orchestra, a 21-piece ensemble of the finest young luminary jazz and classical musicians in LA.

Nailo - Guitar / Vocals

A Sacramento, CA native, Nailo released his first full-length solo album, Shapeshifter, in February 2018,  His experience creating genre melding jams is a force to be reckoned with.   As a former member of the funky-soul hip/hop group, Balance and the Traveling Sounds and the RnB-fused indie-alternative group, Tribal Campagne, Nailo groomed his unique guitar playing and production style into the groove driven, avant-garde, prog-pop artist that he is today.

In 2013, as a member of Balance and the Traveling Sounds, Nailo shared the stage with performing artist juggernauts Joss Stone, Ziggy Marley, Jose James, Craig David, George Duke, and Stanley Clarke at the 2013 Java Jazz Festival in Jakarta, Indonesia.  More success followed the band as they released collaborations with underground hip/hop artist M.E.D, and Stones Throw producer and DJ J-Roc. This lead to the release of the band's fourth album, "Bedrock Sessions EP," a live recording in one of Los Angeles' prestigious studios, Bedrock Studios.

In 2015, Nailo joined Tribal Campagne, where they performed at the ASCAP Songwriter Convention.

Craig Landon - Bass / Vocals

Born and raised in Southern California, Craig Landon began playing bass after a friend advised that "tall people are meant to play bass".  After writing and releasing the album 'Discover' with local blues-funk band, The Counterparts, he moved to Davis, CA to study music theory.  Craig's musical tastes and bass influences rapidly expanded while attending UC Davis, as he focused his studies on 20th century classical music and jazz.  After briefly living in Chicago, IL, Craig returned to Southern California with a soul full of music and a bass in his hands.

Craig's musical influences include James Jamerson, Chris Squire, John Cage, and Jaco Pastorius.

Marco Palmer - Drums

From playing with jazz combos, big bands, and musicals, to playing the 2014 Pride festival with world pop artist, Z Lala, to playing the ASCAP I Create Music Expo in 2015 with Indie Rock band, Tribal Campagne, Marco Palmer’s musicianship and comprehensive understanding of multiple genres is beyond proficient.

Born and bred in Los Angeles, Marco attributes his eclecticism as a drummer and percussionist to the exposure of the musical arts that only can be obtained growing up in Los Angeles. His ability to be versatile between various styles and genres of music has allowed him to land a variety of jobs as a drummer and percussionist, and is well respected amongst the LA music community.

Well versed in production and songwriting, too, Marco will regularly collaborate with local artists to write progressive Christian worship music.
